Honestly I disrespected myself daily

I disrespected myself by trying to excuse right wing parties. By trying to understand their point of view. By believing if I let them live their lives they’ll do the same for me.

Well the disrespect came in when I finally admitted I was wrong doing all of that. I’m no longer going to be the bigger person. I’m done letting them run things without fighting back. The right wing will destroy our world. Let’s stop that.
I've been there.
Trying to show grace to people that don't even see me as human.

You don't need to seek validation from people that can't see the poison they are💙

@HijabaDabbaDoo it’s so hard because I try not to have any engagement with them but it’s like they seek us out to attack us.

I’m learning my existence doesn’t depend on them. And if it does I won’t be giving it up easily
@BatmanIRL there's no right and wrong here. You can choose when and when not to engage. I'm not gonna say "ignore them" because that's impossible when it's your lived reality. Instead, pick your battles and recognise who actually wants to learn and see you in your entirety as opposed to who's there to undermine and disrespect you

@HijabaDabbaDoo this is the perfect answer. It’s what is needed. Unfortunately some people are stuck in their own head and refuse to believe otherwise
One party or the other has been "destroying our world" for 75 years and guess what? We're all still here. The trees are green, the fishies are still swimming and the birdies are still chirping.

The moral of the story: Don't believe everything...no,, ANYTHING you see on TV or the internet.

@NoThanksLeon don’t tell me how to answer a question. I’ve just explained to you I don’t need to when I live in a small town that would probably be considered a village in the US. So you can refrain from adjusting my answer to fit your narrative and have the answer I gave
@BatmanIRL Now who is being hateful?
BatmanIRL · T
@NoThanksLeon what part of that was hateful
Yeah, tbh “being the bigger person” is what people who want to make change get told to gaslight us into silence.

@666Maggotz exactly. I was arguing with someone over a comment they made about Islam and they had the nerve to quote the bible to me saying “to trust god and bless others- even those who wrong you” like okay that’s in the bible? I’m not?
