I think a lot of people register in opposing parties. I'd be more interested to learn what comes out of the investigation such as Internet activity, interviews with family and friends, the usual. That takes time and assumes, of course, that such information will be made available and shared "news" outlets not censoring by omission.
Meanwhile, what I am more concerned about rather than what freaking party he registered with is how in the hell did the SS allow a shooter nest 150 yards away from an elevated position? I've shot dime-sized groups at 150 yards. That level of threat assessment seems elementary. Heck, they could have flown drones to do a site security survey. I'm not going into conspiracy theories... there's already plenty of that.
