We got stuck with a Republican Congress in 1953.

We got the first military "advisors" sent to Vietnam.

We got a CIA plot to overthrown the government of Iran. (look where that got us!)

We got stuck with Nixon as Ike's vice president (and who later became president himself).

We got a whole bunch of Republican appointees to the Supreme Court.
