It pains me to give New York credit for anything, but it was pretty clever of them to be the first to legalize digital ID.

Today I had to show my ID to even talk about trading my iPhone in. I hate opening my wallet!

And the best thing of all is you can choose what you're showing to people. So if you're just buying beer, you can exclude your home address, height, weight, organ donor status. All they need is your age and photo. Rarely am I impressed with government, but I have to tip my hat to them this time.
