I remember a time when talking politics was fun and interactive. Exchanging view points, making fun of each other respectfully. Having a cold beer while playing some pool with different people ideologies....critical thinking about issues and their perspectives.....what happened?

I've seen it suggested that the current rise in right wing and extreme right wing politics would be impossible if there were not so few people old enough to have already lived through the consequences of that sort of thinking
