Question for all the pro-Palestine/Gaza college protesters...

IF you are an American citizen and have or are pro-Palestine/Gaza protesting,
would you accept a free offer to go there now?
IF not, why?

Seems like a bizarre question. Disclaimer: I’m not in college, and I haven’t protested. That said, I take it you consider yourself pro-Israel? If so would you accept a free offer to go to Israel now?

Are you against sending more funding to Ukraine? Yes? Then would you accept a free trip to Russia?

Questions like mine above and the ones in the OP show the absurdity of applying a black and white worldview to war. It is [i]not[/i] the case that there are only two possible positions: either you want Israel to annihilate Palestine or you want Palestine to annihilate Israel. Both of those positions are extreme and cruel. I can’t speak for the protesters, but I imagine lots of people feel similar to the way I do, that we mostly just want the fighting to stop. But it’s even more complicated than that because there’s the obvious question of how can we best ensure that the peace lasts?

@Ynotisay you’re probably correct on most counts. I’m guessing a minority are informed. I would think for many it’s sheer frustration of having to face what will be their world in the near future. And their problems to solve. For many at college, it’s an eye opening.

@Handfull1 That's sort of my take too. And I think it speaks to youth along with world views that aren't very optimistic. What sort of gets me though is the colleges where many of protests these are breaking out. Most are very expensive universities and they're for a certain class of individuals. And given that's there's no unifying reason for the protests, or any real influence on policy, it just feels more like petulance and rage to me.

@Ynotisay it probably is. Sometimes wealth has its own issues, especially with kids. Although I’d certainly like to try it once, wealth is not always what it’s cracked up to be. They screw up parenting like the rest of us!

If you are pro Israeli would you go join the IDF now? If not why not? This war is not what you seem to think it is. It is a continuation of the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands. There is a Jewish real estate company in Montreal selling plots of land in Gaza. This has nothing to do with religion. This is a land grab by Zionists.
