Are all countries the same?

I remember when COVID was present and because of it I always watched the news and updates.
I couldn't help but notice the things we were told to do and the people telling us not following there own rules.
And the prime minister back then got caught telling alot of lies, and even now members of the that party are still doing wrong.
My dad says you can't trust any of them and I am beginning to believe him now.
Do other countries have MPs like ours?
Like you never hear any scandal from countries like Norway, Finland, Switzerland and lots others or does it just not get reported here in the UK?

When I was about your age, Amy - maybe a bit younger - I read a joke in a University Rag Magazine: "It doesn't matter which party you vote for, the government always gets in". It's a truism that nothing which has happened in the last 50+ years has disabused me of.

@ArtieKat This was a single by The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in 1988 and an oft repeated quote by myself. (Must admit I think it's roots are from way before that though as I remember my mum saying it which would've been around 1978.)

@GeniUs I just had to google their history - I hadn't remembered them doing anything past about 1970. We had some of the spinoffs at my college in the early 1970s (Polytechnic of Central London) and I met Neil Innes - thoroughly nice man - when he was with GRIMMS ( john Gorman, andy Roberts, neil Innes, mike McGear/McCartney, roger McGough and viv Stanshall.

The "Scaffold" element of GRIMMS would have been familiar with the Liverpool University Rag Mag where I read it in the 60s so it may well have come up in conversation when the 2 bands were touring together

@ArtieKat Off topic now but Neil Innes did some incredible comedy songs, I particularly like this which summed up the songs in Eurovision nicely:

@GeniUs Very talented! Did you see the stuff he did with The Ruttles? (Some of the Monty Python team)

@ArtieKat Yes, again top quality and the mocumentary they did I saw whilst on holiday and couldn't make up my mind if it was real or not.
