Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex. The man was a warrior. He knew the reality of war and what it spurned in peacetime. We’re seeing it and have been seeing it for years.
And make no mistake, yes it is very much about money and who is making it.

@soar2newhighs Cheney and Tenneco, no conflict of interest there ,eh?

@soar2newhighs

Eisenhower screwed up quite a lot.

Korea
Iran
Vietnam
Cuba
U-2
...and he put Nixon on the eventual road to the presidency
@beckyromero Much of what occurred had the stage(s) set years ago in America’s history such as Korea and Japan. If you want a hood history lesson read “
The Imperial
Cruise” by Nom Bradley. Eye opener.

And if your comment about Hoover is directed at me, fine but before he got in the book I mentioned had set the chart for much of the course this country would take.

It was Eisenhower's choice to negotiation a cease-fire in Korea. How'd that turn out?
It was Eisenhower's choice to have the CIA overthrow the government of Iran. How'd that turn out?
It was Eisenhower's choice to send military advisors to Vietnam. How'd that turn out?
It was Eisenhower's choice to plan an overthrow of Fidel Castro. How'd that turn out?
It was Eisenhower's choice to lie about U-2 flights over the Soviet Union. How'd that turn out?
And it was Eisenhower's choice to pick Richard Nixon as his vice president. How'd that turn out?

@soar2newhighs It's funny you mention Eisenhower in the same sentence as Military Industrial Complex.

One of the LARGEST and most widespread items of that industrial complex was the Interstate Highway System, a MILITARY project that Eisenhower signed into law.
@Reason10 Yes in the same sentence. Eisenhower sand his warning about the military industrial complex.
