Iran launches allout retaliatory war on Israel.

Israel had bombed Iranian Embassy in Syria without provocation. Let's see what excuse the White House has in getting Americans involved in this mess that Israel has stirred up.

Not helpful.

But we shouldn't repeat the mistake of allowing North Korea to develop nuclear weapons.

@beckyromero I’d feel better,

@helenS We’ve been dealing with them since 1979 and it’s enough. They are very close to a nuclear weapon. Let’s not let them become the next North Korea.

The antisemitic leftists (redundant, I know) should not be part of the equation. They side with Hamas despite their tepid remarks to the contrary.

It wasn't always redundant. The European left supported Israel until the Six-Day-War in 1968 or so. I don't know what happened, all I can say is that I can't see myself as a part of the current left anymore. 😕

@helenS I saw it in college in the late 80s during the Second Intifada. The development of the oppressor/oppressed narrative is seductively simple. Once the right generation became academics, game over.

@Bumbles It's nauseating how they see Hamas or Hezbollah as freedom fighters and allies, not as oppressors. Friends sent me horrible pictures from Berlin where "friends of the Palestinian people" celebrated the October pogrom in Israel.

That can be done without killing millions of innocent people who want freedom from tyranny.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@beckyromero I wasn’t really being serious, but I do think Iran must be stopped and yes, that will mean innocent people will die.
helenS · 36-40, F
@beckyromero Bumbles is just upset, he would not push the red button.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@helenS Exactly. Leftists are not pacifists. That’s a myth.

North Korea has no choice because we keep scaring it with our war exercises every year in South Korea. Even Trump could see the provocation and called off our pointless, costly military games requiring the spending on tens of millions of US taxpayer money flying nuclear bombers from Guam to flex our muscles. Kim Jong Un appreciated Trump's common sense and invited him to step into North Korea.

@sree251

It had nothing to do with our "war exercises."

North Korea simply saw what happened to Iraq and realized if it armed itself with nuclear weapons they'd have a deterrent against a conventional attack. At the same time that meant South Korea and its allies would need to build up conventional forces in case North Korea decided to attack from behind that nuclear shield.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine shows what could happen when you give up your nukes.

And it's a lesson for us to make sure Iran doesn't turn into another nuclear-armed rogue state.

The US has never left Korea even though the war was fought to a stalemate in 1953. Both Russia and China that supported North Korea had left, the US has remained in South Korea with 30,000 troops. North Korea is facing US on its own. I have been to South Korea. The Koreans are not people you want to mess with.

The US has nukes, and so has the UK and France. Thanks to people like you, we are now a feminized culture and fight dirty using Ukraine as a front. Ukraine never had nuclear weapons that were based in Ukraine which was part of the Soviet Union (USSR).

The only nuclear armed rogue state is the feminized USA. We don't fight like a man. We have been bullying and clobbering small countries since Vietnam.

Get away from me. I have a crucifix, holy water, and a bunch of garlic.
@sree251 You don’t seem to know what “feminized” means.

You have your meaning and I have mine. We each have our own opinion about everything. This is what a free country means.

So, tell me what you mean by "feminized"?
