I would have imagined that the population in Europe would massively revolt before letting the US vs Russia go on there.

Seems their lives were worth very little to them, after all.

Nothing to do with the US.

Most Europeans just aren’t happy with the idea of Russia violating sovereign nations and steamrolling through Europe.

In fact, we’re more likely to revolt if our governments don’t do enough to support Ukraine.
@OctoberEyes sure. They're unaware of NATO, or the promises made to Russia not to expand? Just such simple people!

@Roundandroundwego No such promise was ever made. This was confirmed by the Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. The only promise made related to NATO forces on former German Democratic Republic territory.

In fact, Russia agreed to NATO expansion several times. In the 1997 NATO-Russia Founding Act, which allowed Eastern European countries to decide their own national security measures (i.e. to apply for NATO membership if they so wished), and the subsequent 2002 Rome Summit which built upon this framework. There were only stipulations made about nuclear weapons on new member states.

And take Putin’s comments about Finland joining; he couldn’t care less, despite that being 1,000km + of additional NATO borders connected to Russia.

This idea that NATO broke promises is Kremlin propaganda.

@OctoberEyes About European countries not tolerating USA vs. Russia interactions:
Those countries signed onto NATO expressly so the USA, GB, Canada, France would protect them from Soviet cum Russian aggression.
Bottom line: Nobody wants to see a conflict. Nobody should. What should be done to stop that possibility?: Stop Russia (Putin & associates) from talking 'war' as a defense against it's own aggression in Ukraine.

Question: Why can't the UN discharge Russia from its Security Council when it has broken the tenets of the Council's purpose? Of course, the USA would have to lose it's seat too for the same reasons!

Americans are really good at fighting shooting wars in other peoples back yards. Meanwhile they are losing the economic war in their own..😷
