Trump has publicly called for suspending the constitution. He has openly said he intends "to be a dictator on day one" if elected. This is outright treason against the United States. Trump must be put on trial for high crimes and misdemeanors, and forbidden to run for any elected office for Iife. No one is above the law.

@badminton
Trump has publically called for suspending the constitution.
Newsweek Fact Check: Did Donald Trump Call to Suspend the Constitution?
Trump had raised the notion of "termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." Termination rather than suspension.
Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," Trump wrote on Truth Social on December 3, 2022. "Our great 'Founder' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

@IM5688
There's nothing wrong with terminating the Constitution and re-writing a new one. Even Thomas Jefferson had stated that in his opinion, the US Constitution should be formally re-written and updated every twenty years or so.
If there is ANYONE who is a candidate for taking a Civics course, it would be you. I thought I had met some BLUE STATE STUPID types in my life, but you apparently are the king.
The United States Constitution has this thingy called AMENDMENTS.
Get an adult from a red state school to idiot-splain that process to you. And try not to drool on yourself while trying to listen.

@sree251 When made President in 2016 Trump took a sworn oath to protect and defend the constitution. Buts oaths mean nothing to him. Trump was frustrated by the constitution because it is designed to thwart would-be dictators.
Don't be so casual about getting rid of the constitution. It has served us well for nearly 250 years. With its system of checks and balances, and separate co-equal branches of government we have been protected from dictators for the whole history of our country. And I suggest you re-read the Bill of Rights. That document gives American citizens unequalled protection of our civil rights and liberties. Read the sublime first amendment:
Amendment I
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

@sree251
Quite right. The US Constitution is not the Bible
@Reason10 This is correct I'm afraid.
In a Truth Social post on Dec. 3, 2022, Trump repeated his claim that the 2020 election results were fraudulent, and argued that this allows "for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." Many interpreted this to mean he had called for a termination of the Constitution. Trump later denied this, arguing that he meant "steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG" of election fraud.
He said it. Fact.

@badminton agreed. Not sure if I'm in the majority though...

@badminton I do believe the context of Trump's statement was that he will sign multiple Executive Orders to put back the policies Biden signed away in his first 3 days in The Office, which was observed as a Dictatorship like action on Joe Biden's behalf due to being 30 Executive Orders, which was never done in the History of America.
