I've seen a few right-wingers here trying to claim that immigrants are causing a crime wave. The only support for the claim is one very misleading statistic - that some large percentage of federal arrests (35% 50% whatever) are undocumented immigrants.

Here's why it's misleading: the federal government makes very very few arrests! Something like 99% of all arrests are made state & local police. Don't be fooled by a large slice of a tiny pie!!
