Why not? I'm not a supporter but it's a legit political issue.
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
@GerOttman Govt money shouldn't be funding the trip because it doesn't fund abortion. It is not healthcare. There is a plethora of healthcare issues that are far more important to America (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity)

@AmericanAvenger Many such activities take place as elections loom.

@badlands

A country with people who have goodness in their hearts. "My body" only means me, me, and me. Where did that attitude ever get anyone, and why is it being encouraged and made law?

Roe was one of the WORST Supreme Court decisions of all time. It was poorly written, based on a LOT of false premises.
The modern Supreme Court overturned it because they determined there was nothing Constitutional about it.

If the DemoNazis want abortion on demand in all 50 states, they need only pass a bill in Congress and get their Fuhrer (President) to sign the law. If abortion was so popular, why hasn't the DemoNazis done this already.
She couldn’t have visited a clinic in the D.C. area and espoused her reproductive rights message without traveling to different areas?
@AmericanAvenger Albeit D.C. is a district and not a state; my point was if she needed to espouse her views on the issue she could have done it there.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@soar2newhighs she is a rino. Just insert leftist views.
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
@soar2newhighs I lived in DC for a few decades. You can't educate me on DC. I know what you were saying and I stated that the reason she did not visit a center in DC. That DC is not a state is not the point - it doesn't not represent any political gain for Democrats in the campaign.
The topic of Vice President Kamala Harris visiting an abortion clinic is a complex and polarizing issue. Individuals hold various perspectives influenced by personal beliefs, values, and political ideologies.

From one viewpoint, supporters of reproductive rights might argue that Harris's visit to an abortion clinic symbolizes her support for women's healthcare and autonomy over their bodies. They might see it as a step towards destigmatizing abortion and advocating for women's rights.

On the other hand, critics may argue that Harris's visit was inappropriate, especially if taxpayer money was used for the trip. They might believe that abortion is not a legitimate form of healthcare and thus should not be publicly funded or endorsed by government officials.

Ultimately, opinions on this matter will vary greatly depending on one's stance on reproductive rights, the role of government in healthcare, and broader political perspectives. It's essential to recognize the complexity of the issue and engage in constructive dialogue to understand different viewpoints.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays It was never about reproductive freedom. It's about reproductive control.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
She isn't too bright. Maybe she thinks that MAGA means Make America Give Abortions.
@SteelHands Margaret Sanger, a prominent figure in the birth control movement, did indeed have connections to the eugenics movement, which was influential in the early 20th century. She believed in promoting birth control as a means of empowering women and improving public health. However, it's essential to understand the complexities of her views and the historical context in which she operated.

Sanger's advocacy for birth control stemmed from her belief that women should have control over their reproductive choices. While she did associate with eugenicists and believed in the idea of "selective breeding" to improve the human race, her primary focus was on women's rights and reproductive health.

The term "family planning" was indeed used as a euphemism for birth control, but its purpose was to promote the idea of controlling family size and spacing out births, which Sanger believed would lead to healthier families and communities.

It's crucial to approach historical figures like Margaret Sanger with nuance, acknowledging both their contributions and the controversies surrounding their beliefs and associations. While she did intersect with eugenics, her legacy is more complex and encompasses a broader range of reproductive rights and health advocacy.

She’s trying to make a political statement. I don’t think she does or says very much right…
No abortion clinics in D.C.? Could have been driven to one, I’m sure.
Was it right for trump to fly to the border in Texas when he as in office....on our dime? Same thing isn't it?
