The economy was already in shambles before the lockdowns because people were afraid to go out and spend money. Hospitals were overwhelmed, people were refusing to go to work, companies were shutting down because they had no customers. It was only [b]after[/b] this started, that some governors imposed lockdowns.

If the lockdowns never happened, things would have continued getting worse and worse.

Also, what do you mean by global peace? Trump increased drone strikes, did nothing to end the war in Crimea, and abandoned the Kurds so they could be slaughtered because that's what daddy Putin wanted.

@Hanginginthere The migrant crisis happened because Trump destroyed Venezuela with sanctions. Both Democrats and Republicans came together to write a bill that would close the border, but then Trump told Republicans to refuse to vote on it. And because the GOP is a cult, they obeyed him.
I should also mentioned that Biden has deported more illegals than Trump.

If you want a tougher border policy, vote for Democrats. 🤷‍♂️

I didn't say Biden is doing a fabulous job. I said the reason that the migrant crisis happened is because of Trump's policies, and the reason Biden can't close the border now is because Republicans refuse to vote on a bill that they actually co-wrote.

If you really cared about the border, you would vote Democrat down ballot. But this isn't about policy, this is about the Trump Cult.

Democrats co-wrote the bill with Republicans. Republicans are the ones refusing to vote on their own co-written bill. How is that the fault of the Democrats? Blame Republicans for not having the balls to stand up to Trump.

Let's just assume that's true. Let's say that for these past three years, Biden's administration has been running the country, while Sleepy Joe naps and eats ice cream. Who cares? Biden's administration has been doing a great job. They fixed the economy, lowered the cost of drug prices, created tons of new jobs, ended a war, forgave millions in college loans, and we're closer to being energy independent than ever before. They passed the CHIPS Act, the American Rescue Program, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

If you think Biden is just in a "Weekend at Bernie's" situation, vote for him anyway, so that his administration gets reelected.

@Hanginginthere Sure, but we have to deal with what we have. The president for the next four years is going to be either Trump or Biden. I can whine about how I rather have Bernie Sanders or Marianne Williamson, but we all know it's not going to be either of them.
That being said, Biden has been the best president since FDR, while Trump has been the worst ever. The best possible choice given what we have is Biden.

Single-topic bills would kill the Dems agenda but would get more things done. Then we could actually see where everyone stood on every issue. When they cram 200 different items into a bill, it makes it very nearly impossible to get full buy-in.

Ppl can be against amnesty AND 5000 new entries/day without being against border security. Including such meaures is NOT a compromise. And voting against them does NOT mean they don't want security.

Secure the border....then discuss numbers. But that wouldn't give the dems what they really want, so they play political bs games.

Actually, I kinda agree here. The Republicans don't actually want to close the border, they want illegal immigration because it's cheap labor for the rich. So the Republicans who want to close the border are pretty RINO.
But either way, the point is this bill would have ended the migrant crisis. If that's important to you, then blame the Republicans for not voting on it.
