"My dad was a slave" claims KY Republican at NAACP.

You can't make this stuff up. The 'hits' just keep on coming.

Source: AtAdvocacy News

Hooooooooooooo boy. While pushing for a bill to end college diversity initiatives, Republican state Rep. Jennifer Decker told a room that far from her family owning slaves, her father — who was born in 1933 — was a slave himself! When reporters got wind of this and began prying, Decker tried to brush the questions off as "irrelevant" before eventually admitting that he had actually been born into poverty but she "probably overstated" his plight. "Was I saying that it was kidnapping and abuse the same as the slaves? No." There's a lot of shamelessness in the Republican Party, but telling a room full of Black people that your dad was a slave to justify your efforts to cut young Black youths off from opportunities you've always been afforded really takes the cake.

I didn't know Decker was CHINESE.
Right now, CHINESE make up most slaves in the world.

By the way, African slaves were NOT kidnapped by evil American slave traders. (In the 19th Century, slavers were also referred to as "blackbirders.")
Africa has had slavery of its own people CENTURIES before Amerigo Vespucci was even born. Africans were sold into slavery for all sorts of reasons. And in SOME parts of Africa, there is STILL a slave trade.

@Reason10 its no excuse but yes we(the us) tend(s) to gloss over the 'entire' picture
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@exchrist No. The NAZIS among us (who used to be known as liberals) only want to focus on the slavery that occurred in the 19th Century before the Republicans beat the Nazi Democrats in the Civil War and ended American slave trade. The Nazis here are too stupid to understand that African slave trade occurred LONG before there was an America and that African slave trade happens even now.
The educated among us (known as the vast majority of America, mainstream conservatives) see the bigger picture.

@Reason10 Why are you "educated among us (known as the vast majority of America, mainstream conservatives)" so fearful of people having access to the ballot box?
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@JSul3 That is a LIE.
Nobody is fearful of LEGALLY REGISTERED VOTERS having access to the ballot box, after producing a government photo ID.
Most of America has a problem with Nazi Liberals voting more than once, illegal aliens voting more than once and skewing elections.
To the American mainstream, if you are registered to vote and you are not a convicted felon, you get ONE FCKING VOTE on Election Day, same as everyone else.

@Reason10 Seems that the ones committing voter fraud were some Trump voters.
Again, provide proof or shut up with the BS. Many judges, selected by Trump, found no massive voter fraud.

@Reason10 im not disagreeing however extreme agressive labels seperates the citizen into us and them and blame only serves to piss ppl off. In the name of community we the (citizen) would do best to work together to avoid the mistakes of the past. Or lets promote hate of our fellows to get nothing done. . . Which do u prefer?
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@exchrist I prefer ENDING this "slavery" waterboarding the left has been perpetrating on those of us with jobs.
There are PLENTY of problems today, without having to worry about paying extra taxes just to give "reparations" to descendants of slaves.
It's on the books. It's in the CONSTITUTION. No slavery. The American people have spoken. Until someone overturns the 13th Amendment, I'd say the issue is OVER and the argument is OVER.

People who keep bringing it up are idiots and trouble makers.

@Reason10 agree lets move toward even more equality and its resultant prosperity and community
