3 House Republicans voted against impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

Well now there are three Republicans in the House that do not have to worry about being re-elected, because they won't be.

Ken Buck stated, “To be clear, Secretary Mayorkas has completely failed at his job. He is incompetent. He is an embarrassment. And he will most likely be remembered as the worst secretary of Homeland Security in the history of the United States.”

If Mayorkas is such a failure at his job, then he should be impeached or fired or forced to resign. If any of us employed working people failed at our jobs, we'd be fired. The same should hold true for Mayorkas.

Buck added, “maladministration or incompetence does not rise to what our founders considered an impeachable offense.” How about treason? Mayorkas is allowing this attack against our country.

McClintock said, can only be solved after the 2024 elections to “replace the entire administration and that can only be done by the American people at the ballot box.” I think most of the American people want Mayorkas out. McClintock wants to wait and see what further damage Mayorkas can do by waiting for the elections.

Gallagher expressed concerns about the validity of impeaching Mayorkas. I'd say that ignoring our immigration laws and processes is a valid reason for the impeachment of Mayorkas.

Biden and his administration are destroying this country and the people we voted in to stop this, aren't.
On the House floor after the vote Republican Representative from Texas....Chip Roy said,.............. "I saw former President Trump make that allegation earlier today on one of his social media posts. 'All the president has to do is declare the borders closed and it's closed.' Well, with all due respect, that didn't happen in 2017, 18, 19, and 20. There were millions of people who came into the United States during those four years and trump stopped very very few of them despite his lies."

He went on to say that "Mayorkas.....and Biden has just as little to do with the migration problems because the laws are antiquated........last written in the early 1980's....and since then no one has really cared about new laws because more can be gained in election years by Republicans complaining no Dem wants to fix this..............and now when Dems do.........Republicans are blocking it to kiss up to trump"

Chip Roy is a Republican. A really rare one..............he has a backbone.

So no self-respect to get to the truth, huh? Just want to hate and have your enemies? They feed it to you like slop to a pig and you lap it up? Yeah. That's cute.

For the REAL Americans here, not this clown, don't you think it would have come up that under the Biden administration there have been FAR more arrests and deportations than under Trump?

Not saying that's a good thing but it's a true thing.

This was nothing but another in a long line of failed attempts by those who just want to hang on their hat on a shared enemy. And they always go to the lowest hanging fruit.

The fact that they're locked in to hating hardworking human beings escaping violence and poverty speaks directly to they are as people. And with all the screaming they do they decided to not fund a huge immigration bill? Fuck them all.

I'll take one undocumented worker over 50 whiny, gutless MAGA'S any day of the week.

@Ynotisay I went to high school on the border with many first generation immigrants, and I concur. They embodied the ideals that MAGAs falsely claim they stand for.

@windinhishair Mostly religious too, huh? Ironic.

@Ynotisay Many were very devout and lived their faith.
Interesting quote:

Really? Hasn't Mayorkas done enough?

In the grand scheme, the Senate wouldn't convict, and even if they did, Biden would likely replace him with someone as bad if not worse, i.e. John Podesta replacing John Kerry as climate czar.

An impeachment vote was taken and it failed because there was no evidence of Mayorkas committing any crime.

And if you don’t like it here in our great country, then feel free to move somewhere else, and don’t let the door hit ya where nature split ya on your way out.
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@RedBaron Oh, you don't think it's a crime that Mayorkas went around US immigration laws to allow all the illegals in?
RedBaron · M
@IM5688 I don’t know the laws well enough to judge if it rose to the level of impeachment, and you don’t either.

Obviously, the majority of House members don’t think it did.

As I said, if you think our country is so bad, leave.

If you feel that strongly that the Biden administration is “destroying” the US, why don’t you consider moving to either China or Russia. Both countries are run by self elected dictators who rule their respective countries by force.
