Does someone’s political beliefs affect how you view them?

@SteelHands Unless said hat is promoting racism, bigotry, religious fanaticism I can't see that as being a problem. I respect opinions, beliefs that are based on facts and evidence.

@SteelHands Well since I'm not an American much of what you're stating, the names you're quoting mean nothing to me. And on the basis of my posts that certain political beliefs would indeed make if difficult for me to be friends with such people you're accusing me of beliefs that you don't seem able to describe. Maybe you need to take a long hard look at your own prejudices. To be honest the accusations you're making are symptomatic of why it's virtually impossibe to have a reasoned debate with so many Americans.

@SteelHands There is nothing stopping me looking up yhe names you quoted. I do actually recognise the name Clarence Thomas who has been accused of sexual assault and taking bribes. As for the rest what would be the point? I'm still trying to work out why my original post stimulated the stream of invective you replied with? If you want to debate any point I made feel free, but hurling abuse achieves nothing. It does seem to be the American way these says, don't listen or read to what someone else has stated, just go with personal abuse! It's very sad.
