Not the usual word salad. 馃き

I wonder how many rehearsals MSNBC had to have with her, in preparation for the interview?
Vin53M
@Thinkerbell Bull shit, she's sharp as a tack. Show us one of her word-salads.

@Vin53 The right have targetted her since Day 1 to undermine an admittedly past his best Biden. Being a woman and mixed race she gives Trumpist white men the horrors just thinking she is only a heartbeat from the Presidency. Just dont mention Dan Quayle. Thats a sore point..馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman

"...past his best..."

The understatement of the century, not that he was ever very much. 馃ぃ
Vin53M
@Thinkerbell Well yeah, if you don't know intelligent then you're going to be confused.
Vin53M
@whowasthatmaskedman Biden at any level is miles ahead and better than any gop candidate. Even those with 91 pending felony charges.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@Thinkerbell I am happy to concede that ground.. However he will do less harm than the Republican alternative..馃樂
Vin53M
@Thinkerbell No? He sure got re elected quite a lot in his 50 years of leading.
Vin53M
@whowasthatmaskedman Lets see. Biden has been leading for 50 straight years. Ya think he might have a pretty wealth of knowledge of the workings of Washington, DC?

Cuz I sure the hell do,
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@Vin53

Fifty years of following is more like it. 馃き

Thinkerbell41-45, F
@whowasthatmaskedman

That we have reached a point where anyone has to say that the likes of Biden is the least of evils is a clear indication that America may be broken beyond repair.

But I think you have already expressed that very sentiment in other threads.
Vin53M
@Thinkerbell Yeah. thats pretty childish.
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@Vin53

Call it what you like, but it is precisely true.

When Dixiecrats wanted him to be a racist, he was a racist, and voted against school busing.

And when the Squad wanted illegal immigration, he gave them illegal immigration.

And as for getting re-elected in Delaware...

Vin53M
@Thinkerbell I'm sorry, I ought to have said I find you very childish. Pardon me.
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@Vin53

Well then, if I am so childish, you should have no trouble whatever in refuting the substance of what I posted in my comments.

So far, you have conspicuously failed to do that.
Vin53M
@Thinkerbell yes, you win I guess.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@Thinkerbell Yes. I have..And economically America is toast, no matter who is in charge or what happens. Its just a matter of how long before the bailiffs arrive to foreclose.. The only difference being that Trumps attitude and tactics will push the bus over the cliff. Now follow me here. Currently America is running up over a Trillion dollars a year in NEW debt to overseas countries. The Balance being well over $30 trillion right now.. All the world bank has to do is cut up Americas credit cards and demand payment in full on delivery.. No new credit. That means everything from oil to car components and flat screen TVs will dry up and prices will rise due to shortages, which means inflation. Which you are getting a taste of mildly now..There are a couple of complex steps after that which send that inflation spiralling. To show you how bad that can get, Argentina just had an annual inflation rate of 160% (and no thats not a typo)
So either way, America is screwed. But with anyone but Trump at the wheel, there is a chance of some reasonable negotiation. With Trump, China will step up with the backing of the Saudis and others and take over the reserve currency role (They already have the framework ready) and the $US will collapse in a heap internationally. Then America will have to buy Yuan to pay for everything. But I am sure the Chinese will give you a good deal..馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman

" Argentina just had an annual inflation rate of 160% (and no thats not a typo)"

Chickenfeed... my grandmother, who lived through the German hyperinflation of the early 1920s, told me about how a loaf of bread cost a billion marks towards the end of 1923.

And then suddenly the currency stabilized (once the domestic WW1 debt was paid off with worthless money), with the introduction of the Rentenmark, worth something like a trillion inflated Deutschmarks at the transition. Germany has been very careful about controlling inflation ever since.

As for China, if the US economy falls, who are the Chinese going to sell their stuff to? I think a world-wide depression is the more likely result, if the World Bank cuts the US's credit cards.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@Thinkerbell Of course there will be a global depression as there was in the Great Depression. But Americans will suffer the most. Just getting America back to a trade parity. (The international version of importing the same value as you export ) will mean a massive austerity program, similar to the rationing in Britain that went on throujghout and after the last war..
As for the Chinese.. I have bad news. They sell to over 5 BILLION people. Americas 300 million who arent a good credit risk is just a speed bump. And they do have strategic reasons for keeping you opn the books for now. To stick the trade knife in when America is really vulnerable..馃樂 (P.S. I am aware of the inter war hyperinflation and the wheelbarrow full of notes for a loaf of bread. This is the ultimate expression of what happens when you print money like its real. It isnt. It just represents value. But I chose Argentina because ithe number feels "real" (unlike 5000%) and because its NOW. It can happen today in spite of all the checks and balances.)
BohemianBooM
@Thinkerbell So are you against racism or not? You support Trump, but claim Biden is racist.
Is it that you don't actually care about racism either way? Or is it that Trump still acts racist, while Biden doesn't?
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@whowasthatmaskedman

"They [the Chinese] sell to over 5 BILLION people. Americas 300 million who arent a good credit risk is just a speed bump."

The "speed bump" represents 17% of their exports, and even more of their trade surplus.
If they lose the speed bump, their economy would be seriously affected.

But yes, the US has to undergo austerity. The trouble is, I have no confidence in either party.
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@BohemianBoo

I have never said a word in favor of Trump. In 2016 and 2020, I left the presidential lines on my ballot blank, to indicate that there were NO acceptable candidates.

As for racism, I am against it in all forms, whether it be to discriminate against a qualified person because of their race OR to show favoritism to an unqualified person because of their race.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@Thinkerbell No your last point, neither do I as they are both funded by the same lobby groups. And the preconditioning of American citizens is for prompt gratification. Telling them they cant have it is not a vote winner.
But to the early points on the Chinese. They have been fighting an economic war with the West for over two decades and they have pretty much won it. Instead of a hot war, with casualties and devastation, they have attacked Americas economy, by subvertising the supply chains and gaining influence and control of smaller, vulnerable partners, through the "One belt, one road " foreign aid initiatives. America relies on China for basic components for all motor vehicles. They control slices of the entertainment industry and telecommunications and engineering.. America has become reliant on these contributions to keep the wheels turning.
And China is a centralised economy, which means if the government says "Stop" everything stops. And they can support an industry while it is suspended better than the west can. So America will be offered choices to see things Chinas way, or shut down whole industries, throwing millions out of work..And America will have no way to respond..馃樂
BohemianBooM
@Thinkerbell Oh, why didn't you say so? So I guess you'll be voting for Biden because he isn't still promoting racism, whereas Trump is regularly using racism and even Nazism in his talking-points. Maybe Biden is racist, we don't know what's in his heart, but we do know that he isn't using racism in his politics like Trump is.
Thinkerbell41-45, F
@BohemianBoo

Try reading with comprehension next time.

Biden is still promoting racism, only now it's of the kind favored by the Democrat wokesters of today rather than that of the the Dixiecrats of yesterday.

So if the choice is the same in 2024 as it was in 2020, I will again leave the presidential line blank.

But all this is beside the point.
What you revel in is that the choice among such evils is a symptom of the downfall of the U.S.
