Welcome to how Americans feel about foreign aid to the countries that hate us
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Ozuye502 well, I mean...you invaded half of them. Might be a reason for the hate.

I'd gladly pay double that to deport the Tories.

I hear some Tories saying it's meant to discourage illegal immigrants. I think threatening to house them in Scunthorpe might be more effective.

The cost of seventeen new schools.
Or half a new hospital.

Yes, if the intention was to prevent 'illegal' immigration.
No, as a transfer of wealth between two unequal nations. The sum paid is equivalent to 6% of Rwanda's GDP and could be put to good uses in that country.

@SunshineGirl Glad we have such philanthropy.
And with just 100000 homeless families in the UK.

@SW-User If it hadn't gone to Rwanda it would probably have been spent on tax breaks for the obscenely rich and luxury wallpaper in no 10.

@SunshineGirl The stench of corruption of this government shows no bounds.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
I mean...is there maybe a rational reason for that aid?
I mean it's not like Rwanda had a Genocide and the world ignored it... right?

@basilfawlty89 it's to bribe them to accept plane loads of immigrants the UK government can't be bothered to process here, so they're sending them to Rwanda in order to wash their hands of the problem.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Richard65 that's even worse.

So true man. look what we are doing in the US

Of all the stupidity from Johnson/May/Truss and now Sunak, this is probably the worst policy decision.
Motivated by nothing more than spite from the extreme right-wing of the Conservative Party to try and take the support away from Farage and his collection of associated extremists.
Really hoping this is the bottom of the barrel.
