My best explanation for these comments is lead poisoning from frequent target shooting. These folks clearly live in another universe. Go ahead, elect Trump to be president of your universe, but stay the hell out of the "sane" one.

If some people want to find shallow politics in some newspaper elevating some pop-singer or other to some spurious "celebrity" position, let 'em!

I would not recognise Taylor Swift, nor any of her ilk, if I held a shop-door open for her. I would not recognise her music (though suppose it's not much different from any other of its genre). I have no idea of her political opinions, which are none of my business anyway.

Though perhaps one day she'll leave the ephemeral "celebrity" pop-music rat-race, enter politics and eventually become one or another party's candidate for the Presidency.

She might even be good at it! :-)
