If some people want to find shallow politics in some newspaper elevating some pop-singer or other to some spurious "celebrity" position, let 'em!
I would not recognise Taylor Swift, nor any of her ilk, if I held a shop-door open for her. I would not recognise her music (though suppose it's not much different from any other of its genre). I have no idea of her political opinions, which are none of my business anyway.
Though perhaps one day she'll leave the ephemeral "celebrity" pop-music rat-race, enter politics and eventually become one or another party's candidate for the Presidency.
She might even be good at it! :-)
