The majority of environmental impact on a car is making it and disposing of it.
An electric car makes about twice as much impact as regular cars, at about twice the cost for about 25% of useful life.
A far better strategy would be to stop deliberately building cars with shitty number of years lifetime and make it last a hundred or more. Which they could. But wont.

In summary.
Better name for wind powered generators is excessively expensive propeller towers for live bird chopping.
Solar panels. Snow tables.
Those systems are only intermittent power generators at best, can't run in stout winds, and have huge maintenance costs for devices that need to be completely rebuilt every 20 years.
Solar panels don't work many hours most of winter because of the short days , overcast days, and the icing and snow, or harsh desert environments that assaults them contributes to rapid deterioration. After about year 20 they're too damaged to keep and need to be replaced. Nice way to add a few extra tons of weight to a wooden framed house and make that roof replacement a financial nightmare as well.
Government tax subsidized climatology disciples seem oblivious to these things. They have no tolerance for the fact that

They are costly, harm the environment as much or possibly even more, and might have niche use in some areas but are not an overall reliant system for humanity to move toward.
