Full disclosure: Emily Maitlis interviews James O'Brien on his new book "How they broke Britain"

Mixed feelings on O'Brien- he is sometimes right, sometimes isn't but my goodness he is so arrogant and clearly thinks he is one of the most intelligent men in the world.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Oh the days of decent talk-radio are sadly long gone.
But I thought it an interesting premis for a book and like they said in the interview when media is concentrated among the few it's worth pointing out just how we got here.

James O'Brien - entertaining and perceptive as ever!

@supersnipe his stuff pops up on my YouTube page and although I don't subscribe he does point out how venal politics and especially the conservative government has been during its time in office.

I was particularly struck by the comments on Kier Starmer.
One big grumble from much of the electorate is that Starmer hasn't exactly been 'Flying the flag for a better tomorrow if you elect us.'

But as O'Brien points out, why tie yourself up in promises you're not sure you can keep ?
Especially if you're guaranteed office anyway !
