Saw a house today with a Trump flag flying higher and bigger than the US flag. Disgusting. Thinking of anonymously mailing them a copy of the US Flag code with appropriate passages highlighted. Good idea?

Agree with all of those comments which highlight the duplicity & awfulness of Trump supporters, but to me the biggest headfuck is that the US has,..... A FLAG CODE? Surely in the land of the free, there's no need to tell people how to fly the flag? The very existence of a flag code speaks much more of a nation, than that there's an inevitable portion of the population who are politically illiterate?
@Philth There is a necessity for a "Flag Code", such things as when the Flag should be flown at half mast, the dimensional proportions, size and colours of the Flag. When multiple flags are flown, what's the precedence (Federal, State, Municipal), what type of things the Flag can be printed on etc. Do you think this should be allowed?
@spjennifer it all rather smacks of a religious acquaintance, who was heard exclaiming to their partner about the neighbours, "ohh look at them, hanging out their laundry on the Sabbath! Call themselves Christians as well! I don't know how they've got the cheek to show their faces in Church"
But yes, I suppose that if the national psyche is based upon the unwavering belief that they're the most righteous and bestest ever nation on this planet, then flagshagging is an important aspect of maintaining this state of psychosis.
@Philth All you have to do is drive down almost any road in America and you'll see flags hanging pretty much everywhere, we are very rah rah, sis boom bah about "Old Glory" here. As someone who's worn that flag on my shoulder for most of my adult life, I can't say any different...
