UK Chancellor Autumn Statement 2023 at a glance

Basic increases and decreases:

Pensions ⬆️ 8% from April
National Insurance ⬇️ 2% from January
Benefits ⬆️ 6.7% from January. But new claimants will be asked to make new commitments before being able to qualify from 2024.
Cigarettes and Tobacco ⬆️ 10%
Beers; wines and spirits ↔️ Unchanged

No change on income tax
No change on fuel duty.....although worth pointing out ALL Gas/electric providers intend to increase costs.
No change on ISAS
No change on savers rates

Give with one hand, take with the other and trying to fool people that not increasing the personal income tax allowance is OK.

A radical change is required.

@Nimbus What i found interesting was the pension increase. Up until yesterday they were saying they weren't likely to raise it......co-incidentally ten minutes after that announcement, three energy companies said they were going to have to raise prices because inflation was too high !

Good, back in my hometown for the Christmas period and there's nothing quite like having a one to one beer with my dad at our craft beer place and also going to the pub for some pints with mates 😌
