People predicted this a year ago. I think I even said that McDonalds won't want their ads next to some guy talking about how great the Holocaust was or saying we should bring back slavery. I'm only surprised it took this long.
Even before Musk took over, Twitter was the worst social media site, and he hasn't exactly improved it. The problem is that there's nothing to replace it as an outlet for journalists to report on events in real time. When that worked (and wasn't just a way to disseminate propaganda) it was a valuable service. None of the replacements, like Threads, Mastodon, or BlueSky seem to be catching on.
