Congratulations to U.S. Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the First Female to be Chief of Naval Operations.

Senate sidesteps Sen. Tuberville’s hold and confirms new Navy head, first female on Joint Chiefs of Staff

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate circumvented a hold by Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Thursday and confirmed Adm. Lisa Franchetti to lead the Navy, making her the first woman to be a Pentagon service chief and the first female member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. (Adm. Linda L. Fagan is the commandant of the Coast Guard, but she is not a member of the Joint Staff.)

Franchetti’s historic confirmation as the chief of naval operations comes as Tuberville has drawn bipartisan criticism for holding up almost 400 military nominations in an effort to protest Pentagon abortion policy. In a remarkable display, several Republican senators angrily held the floor for more than four hours on Wednesday evening and called up 61 of the nominations for votes, praising each nominee for their military service. Tuberville showed no signs of letting up, standing and objecting to each one.

The Senate confirmed Franchetti with an overwhelming 95-1 vote.

Her flag assignments include commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea; commander, Carrier Strike Group 9; commander, Carrier Strike Group 15; chief of staff, Strategy, Plans and Policy (J-5) Joint Staff; commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO; deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe; deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa; Joint Force Maritime Component Commander; deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfighting Development, N7; and director for Strategy, Plans and Policy (J-5), Joint Staff. Franchetti assumed the duties as Vice Chief of Naval Operations Sept. 2, 2022.

If the nitwits in the Senate had any integrity they would expel Tuberville for being a domestic enemy of America.

@TheDisciplinarian
The fact is that Tuberville has compromised the operational readiness of the United States military forces by deliberately blocking promotions of military officers because he has a bug up his ass about abortion. Consequently, if the Senators had any integrity and concern about military readiness and morale, they would expel Tuberville from the Senate for being a domestic enemy of America. They do get 5 points for finally approving a few promotions but their overall grade is a "F".

@Diotrephes Perhaps So
And Yet..
My Previous Statement Stands
Are you
UnSupportive of the Newest Admiral
Admiral Lisa Franchetti ??
Is she somehow deficient or UnAble ?

@TheDisciplinarian You've missed the ark. Start swimming.

All of the people who are on the promotion roster deserve to be promoted. Tuberville should be expelled from the Senate for compromising the readiness and morale of the American military forces. He is a domestic enemy of the United States of America, if not a foreign agent.
