I think it was a master plan by someone in the party. Captain Sir Keir Flipflop-Starmer has an excuse to take his jacket off and roll up his sleeves to look businesslike (because apparently "real men" don't wear suits any more in which case someone shoot me we're in enough aesthetic trouble as it is)? Perfect. AND look sparkly? Bring on the glitter!

@Guitarman123 There's a reason why no one with half a root in the countryside very often votes Labour and suggesting the solution to anything whatsoever is to "bulldoze" through the right of people to object to a new town plonked on top of farmland is basically it.

@ArtieKat The sad thing is it's probably true. He's more focus-grouped than David Cameron but so potent in his sheer boringness that no one really notices.
