A world without politics.

The internet is our world without borders. Can we live this way in a real world without nations?

No. Humans are a territorial and tribal species. We can work together for a common goal sometimes but there will always be that tension, that competitiveness.

I love America where I lived all my life. Given the choice, I would rather live in America. I prefer the culture and the place even though I enjoy living in other countries and like their respective cultures also. I tour everywhere on the internet also because there are so many fascinating people engaged in doing different things they love. Those differences could be considered "territorial" and "tribal". They are all welcoming and accessible to visitors: just like various countries that allow entry and exit of visitors.

@SlaveEt You hit the nail on the head with your reply. Very insightful and true.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Blondily There is nothing insightful about pointing to a glaring fact about human nature. We have been killing each other in wars since forever. What I don't understand is why we accept this.
Blondily · F
@sree251 I dont accept it and find it sickening it but its a fact. Find a way to stop it. I'm listening and hoping for a brilliant solution....

What is forcing us to live this way? There was a time when Americans were running from the draft for soldiers to fight in Vietnam. They escaped to Canada.

@sree251 thank you...I see your sincerity and wish there was a solution.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Blondily Do you see my sincerity or despair? It is strange that mother nature doesn't share my feelings. The sun shines bright lighting up the color of flowers in my garden.

Each individual, each culture, each nation varies in their level of territorial and tribal laws, customs, protocols, behaviors and traditions. It does not change the fact those traits exist. Humans are not as different from the rest of the animal kingdom as we like to believe 😉

I agree with you up to a point. The bodies we inhabit are not different from those in the animal kingdom. Somehow, our consciousness is different. Seriously, I do reflect seriously on what you said. When I looked at my dog or cat, it is eerie how alike I am to it. But then, I can't talk to and relate to my dog the way I can with you.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@sree251
Our language is different, perhaps more complex than a dog's or cat's but since communication between species is difficult even that is hard to say for certain.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SlaveEt Ok, it all comes down to our ability to think and use ideas to communicate and create tools. This ability has also created self-identities inhabiting our respective bodies. These self-identities can't seem to get along harmoniously. Why is that?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@sree251
Limited resources. The more resources the more harmonious the interactions. The fewer the resources the more territorial, tribal, competitive and aggressive we, really all creatures, become. And of course the differences that make us individuals sometimes mean conflict is inevitable.

Our intelligence and ability to use tools is useful, though we are far from the only species to use those adaptations. I will say these adaptations our our specialty and are probably the only reason we have survived as a species, considering our shockingly ill equipped bodies.

Mother Nature is a world of abundance. The air our bodies need to breathe is all around us. The water we need to drink is plentiful in streams and lakes and constantly replenished by rain. And food grows from the earth. I have often wondered why we all have not migrated together to live in places of ideal climatic conditions free from natural disasters. Tools we make will definitely make life easier.

Limited resources is a condition we created for ourselves. Attempts to build communes to foster cooperation have never succeeded. Each is isolated from another with separate individual bank accounts living from paycheck to paycheck. This is why we end up homeless living in the street. We seem to want to live apart instead of together.

I would love to see the world the way you do, but Mother Nature, Planet Earth and life here have shown me such an idealistic vision is not rooted in reality.

How much adaptations do we need to live a good and happy life? Living close to the land is the most secure way of life. All the body needs are food, clothing, and shelter. Do we need to fly from New York to LA to earn a living? The average American drives 35miles a day to get to work and back.

All advancement has it's rewards and drawbacks. I'll take the modern way of life with our medical, dental, education, etc. and let those who wish to live differently do so. Humans have never lived so long nor so well as we do now. Yes, there is always room for improvement.

My vision is indeed idealistic only because we are all living in an infrastructural grid supporting tens of millions of people. We all live inside our heads and hardly ever look at the sky. Such a way of life is invigorating. After all, we are creatures of the mind. We are not part of Mother Nature.

"Humans are not a part of Mother Nature."
Do you honestly believe we are separate? Special? Better than?
I say we are as much a part of it as the ants, beavers and eagles. We change our environment to suit us, same as any other creature.

The modern way of life is a city way of life where people have sharp minds and sharp clothes. What is there not to like about going out Friday nights in a fancy car to dine at a chic restaurant? I have often questioned my own belief that living close to the land is better. Whenever I go on vacation, I would take road trips to small historic towns surrounded by artisanal farmlands. Folks there are nice but not as sharp as city types like you and me. I often wondered why. The more remote the place, the less sharp they seem to be. Here is a video to show what I mean. It's about four sharp city dudes in the nature.

I do not believe but I am afraid that we have lost touch with nature. We are too wrapped up with our lives to care too much about it. Our pace of life is too fast and out of sync with our bodies. On the average, we travel in our cars at 80 mph on the freeway, 500 mph in airplanes, and the speed of light on the computer at our computers to reach business partners across the globe. We are no longer living with our bodies that have legs for locomotion. Hardly anyone lives at a pace of 3 mph these days. Living at such a face pace comes with a price. We are not aware of the stress level it imposes on the body, and the toll it takes on human relationships. We kill human bodies with no remorse. It's normal for a US President to announce on national TV that he has just killed someone in a drone strike. We kill each other off as a way of life. Do we feel better than the other animals? We slaughter them in the tens of millions everyday for food.
