@LeopoldBloom Yes, and then Israel used that as an excuse to commit war crimes against the Palestinians, which they continue to do today. That's generally how ethnic cleansings work. The government justifies mass persecutions based on the actions of a few people from that group.

@BohemianBabe So you support the Palestinians, who consider all Israelis to be legitimate targets based on the actions of the IDF. If Israel is committing war crimes, so is Hamas. It's considered a war crime to embed military installations in civilian structures like schools and hospitals.

@BohemianBabe The Palestinians don't want a two state solution. Hamas and the PA hate each other even more than they hate Israel. Gaza was a dry run; they could have turned themselves into a Mediterranean resort. Instead, they elected Hamas and used it as a staging ground to attack Israel, which they've been doing to one degree or another since 2006.
Israel is not obligated to accommodate people that will only be satisfied with its total destruction and the death of every Jew in the area. When the Palestinians are ready to accept their own state, they will get one. I don't think the two state solution will work anyway. I support a federation of self-governing cantons similar to what Switzerland has. The Palestinians aren't ready for that either.

It really is amazing how people will just ignore 90% of the history of that region so they can come to the conclusion that Palestinians are inherently evil. Israel has been regularly committing war crimes against the Palestinians ever since they rounded them up and forced them into Gaza. What do you think happens under those conditions?
