Maybe it’s time that we recognize something. The persons who are trapped, in the world of decades ago. Cannot see any other world except their own as appropriate. That said I know many people advanced in age, who have advance through time like the rest of us. But I’m starting to understand, for people who are trapped in the decades where they were the best folks? All they see all around them is that they are becoming extinct. News for them is, they are!

@Amylynne Most boomers are Conservative and that is true in the UK as well. Very ironic given that its the 60s generation. My parents are an exception, fortunately. I'm a little to the left of them but we agree on values and it means I don't have awkward political conversations with them. My Dad was a union rep. Yes, that generation will die off but I'm really wary of expecting a progressive majority to emerge, given neoliberalism's hold of institutions. But that i a longer debate.

Human decency? There’s a great deal of horrific stuff going on in our world. Much of it with the tacit acceptance of those people who would call themselves decent. That you were offended by a lady choosing to do something other than make children is indicative of the space you occupy.
What is becoming extinct is a generalized and tolerance for people who are not just like your group. What is becoming extinct frankly is a lot of the cultural norms that have been in place throughout the error of conquest and colonialism.
Men have always been allowed to do as they wish with their sexuality. To a man who does so there are thumbs up to a woman who does so I believe the word is slut.

@Burnley123 It's not ironic. The Hollywood & popular culture portrrayal of the 1960's is complete nonsense. The Hippies & Free Love movements were not dominate @ all. It was a very conservative time in the US & across the west in general.

Why do you presume that I am offended by women who sleeps around for recreation, and not for procreation? You can sleep around for recreation all you want. Of course, my words affirms a judgment on moral decency for my guidance. I choose women the way I pick fresh fruit. Others may prefer over-ripe and even rotten ones. I like fruit off the vine. Others prefer them jammy and even with a worm or two wriggling in the stinky mess.

I live in both places: 6 months at home in the US and 6 months abroad (visa limitation) in Asia where men are men, women are women, and all planets have their assigned places in the cosmos. It is very much the same situation in America.
