Tax other countries on imports more and tax Americans less.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@2brandon2 US citizens end up paying tariffs on imported goods, so your plan ends up taxing Americans more, not less.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@windinhishair well, I meant whatever Trump did
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@2brandon2 Trump enacted tariffs that cost all Americans more on imported goods. The tax breaks were targeted at the wealthy. Average Americans benefited very little if at all, while the national debt boomed,
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@windinhishair well, I must be wealthy because it benefit me
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@2brandon2 You must be wealthy. The tax cuts are currently under discussion again because they expire in 2025. If they are renewed, how much do you think people will benefit? The average savings for people earning under $75,000 a year is $329, or less than a dollar a day. The top 0.1% will get over $175,000 more.

How did you like paying more for imported goods? Did you enjoy the $3.18 and $2.77 trillion budget deficits, the largest in history by several times? That's almost $6 trillion added to the national debt by Trump in just two years. Renewing the tax cuts will add another $3 trillion in the next ten years.

@windinhishair I just know when Trump was president groceries were affordable and gas was affordable. And every since Biden became president I’ve had to choose between buying groceries and buying gas. How do you like the economy under Bidennomics? Ask yourself we’re thing better then or better now. And don’t even get me started on the southern border. I live in a border state. The people here illegally are breaking out hospitals not to mention other businesses.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@2brandon2 The world is infinitely better off now under Biden than it was under Trump. Unemployment is down, inflation is coming down, more people are employed, the budget deficit is increasing, and we are much safer than we were then. We don't have a president telling people to drink bleach to cure an illness that he is making worse due to his public misinformation. Our allies can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the nation is in competent hands again. They are still nervous though when they hear the former president publicly state that he wants to kill the top military official for treason and end democracy.

If you ever studied economics, you would know that Trump's millionaire tax cuts were inflationary in nature and were bound to cause inflation at some point in time. And although it was delayed by covid, it happened. Coming out of covid was also inflationary, as the global inflation that has been experienced shows. Under Biden, the US has fared better during this inflationary period than the rest of the world. Your failure to comprehend the consequences of presidential actions and the impact of global market forces doesn't stop them from happening.

We absolutely need to do something about immigration and the current biggest problem, asylum seekers. Both parties need to sit down and agree on how to address the issue humanely. Unfortunately, when one party is not focused on legislation but performance art instead, and can't even elect a speaker easily, it isn't going to happen.

Which hospitals are people illegally "breaking out"? Are these heart patients, cancer patients, or someone else? What businesses are being broken out?
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@windinhishair President Trump never told anybody to drink any bleach I watching him live when he said something to that effect, and CNN took it out of context. Unemployment is not down unemployment is in fact up inflation is not down it is in fact up. I know that Covid added to the problems of inflation and shortages. I’m not blaming Trump and I’m not blaming Biden. However, I might double to blame Dr. Fauci. And talk about legislation not working on legislation instead they’re too busy trying to impeach Trump and they weren’t doing their job. Quite frankly, I believe all politicians should have term limits and we need to get a president that’s a little bit younger. I would vote for my golden retriever before I would vote for Biden and if Trump ever becomes a viable candidate I would vote for him except that he would only be able to serve one term which would sort of make it like a lame duck term. I would rather get a Republican who is savvy on economics and will be able to be a two term president.
The beauty of America is that you and I both have our rights to in our opinions because America is free if everything went all Republican way or all Democrat way and it would not be the country that we know today it would be a dictatorship.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@windinhishair I forgot to talk about that hospital stuff. Let me just say this I am in the hospital business we have a Plethora of illegal immigrants in our hospitals who cannot pay their bills and the hospitals are millions of dollars in debt because of that. My hospital alone is $10 million in debt to that fund.

@2brandon2 Trump's words were strong enough that the Dallas Poison Control Center had to issue a specific warning not to ingest bleach or pool chemicals because they had a rash of poisonings from the Trump Cult following his directives.

Unemployment was 6.3 in January 2021 when Trump left office and is 3.8% now (August 2023 is the most recent month). Trump's lowest unemployment rate was 3.5% and Biden's has been 3.4% (so far). You are wrong.

Inflation is currently running at 3.7% which is down significantly from last year and the previous year. You are wrong.

How is Dr. Fauci responsible for Cultists not following basic health care protocol?

Trump is not in the process of being impeached. He was impeached twice--the only president to be so disgraced. Both times a majority of the Senate voted for removal, including Republican votes, but fell short of the 2/3 majority needed. Democrats continue to pass legislation in the Senate, and passed significant legislation in the last congressional term in the IRA. Democrats have shown the ability to govern in the current situation. Republicans have no interest in governing.

If Trump is able to steal the next election, we will have a dictatorship. I want a viable Republican Party with a real party platform, not a Trump Cult that follows his wishes and his alone, which is where the GOP is now. I find it hard to believe that any sentient being would vote for Trump who has already been indicted for 91 felonies, could be indicted for many more, has been found liable for sexual assault, running a fraudulent foundation, and running a fraudulent business. The cult of personality has a strong hold on some people, yourself included.

@2brandon2 I have great respect for health care and what hospitals have to go through. This was an issue 50 years ago when I lived in El Paso, and we have never solved it. It is a good reason for a siingle-payer national healthcare system where those costs will get spread around instead of being borne by a single facility or area.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@windinhishair I’m trying to have a conversation man to man. I am a conservative Republican. Not an occultist. When a person resorts to name calling I’m done. And you have lost all credibility in my eyes. People took what Trump said. Way too literal, and it was because of the slant of main stream media’s coverage of him if you wanna believe that people really believed that drinking bleach and pool chemicals would save them from Covid. That’s your business goodbye.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@2brandon2 People that support Donald Trump at this point in time, given what he has done and what he is proposing to do, are members of a Cult. There is just no other way to say it. There are still conservative Republicans out there, but they do not support Trump. The two are incompatible.

It isn't me reporting that poison control centers reported a noticeable increase in poisonings due to people drinking bleach and pool chemicals following Trump's directives. You can read about examples here:

npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/03/24/820512107/man-dies-woman-hospitalized-after-taking-form-of-chloroquine-to-prevent-covid-19

thehill.com/changing-america/well-being/prevention-cures/513533-almost-50-texans-drank-bleach-this-month-poison/

People DO listen to Trump and act on his words. That's a big reason we had an insurrection on January 6, 2021.
