The Gilead School Curriculum: 2023

Florida could become the first state to offer a conservative-backed "classical" exam in lieu of the SAT and ACT for public college admissions.
The classical education model — not to be confused with "classics" or "classical humanities" — focuses on a return to "core values" and the "centrality of the Western tradition." It's gained recent momentum in Florida charter schools and private Christian schools.

The Classical Learning Test launched in 2015 and is used by homeschooling families and co-op groups, according to its website. The test contains three sections: verbal reasoning, grammar and writing, and quantitative reasoning. The Florida Board of Governors is expected to vote on the Classical Learning Test on Aug. 30.

In May, DeSantis signed a bill into law that allowed students to use classical test scores to determine eligibility for a statewide college scholarship program. Critics say the emphasis on Western civilization in classical education centers white Europe and America as most important so-called "classical education is really a wolf in sheep's clothing," said Julian Vasquez Heilig, a professor of educational leadership, research and technology at Western Michigan University.

"Really what it's about is using selective Western thinkers to foment a specific moral ideology," said one critic.

The CLT is accepted by around 240 colleges and universities – or 6% of schools - across the United States and abroad.

This idea needs to be fought; challenged in court and overturned ASAP.

American education is already one of the poorest performing systems in the world.
Go to any one of a hundred youtube channels and see what happens when you interview supposedly college educated American 20-somethings about the world they live in.

They have no concept of geography; no idea of world history nor America's role or non-role in it; They have no concept of economics or their own country's monetary policy and few have a clue as to just how much debt they are in either personally or due to their education.

And THAT'S what this bill ENSURES !
That children grow up knowing nonsense so they can't challenge the egregious policies of their elected officials.
You can't challenge us ! We ensured we are smarter than you !
It allows the dumbing down of future children so that they never question the idiocy and downright aggressive attempt to ensure generations grow up expecting even LESS from future employers and governments.

Truly outrageous.

@Picklebobble2 We can call it a return to Gilead, the retrograde of America, the giant step backwards in time...but right now, actual children will face an actual teacher shortage and unconstitutional teaching policies and they will result in an even dimmer than usual new Florida generation. That the country wants to follow suit is extraordinary. I beg everyone not from Florida to come here and try to conduct basic business for one month without losing their mind.

@Graylight Social engineering in this way is inherently dangerous.
This idea might sound like it solves an immediate problem in the short term but unless you get a grip and produce proper well funded education this idea will become the norm.
