House Bill 4474 seeks to expand what constitutes as a hate crime in Michigan as it relates to real or perceived identifying characteristics including race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and more. The bill also outlines the punishments for such crimes.

So here’s the thing. We instituted mask mandates because people couldn’t be trusted to protect others from harm. Without that need, no mandates. This hate crime bill will be passed because grown-up people can’t seem to be able to accommodate someone with a single word. No ignorance, no need for the bill.

The schoolyard bully who breaks all the rules shouldn’t be surprised when the rules out-evolve him.
