Respect personal but not private property

Capitalists try to persuade people with the idea that personal property and private property are the same things. As a result, they are unwilling to accept the way the latter exploit others.

Personal property:
• It is a property purchased solely for private
use and cannot generate profit
• Ownership rights remain with the individual
who owns the items
• it is not used to exploit anyone
• leftists do not criticize the concept of personal
property

Private Property:
• property that generates profit by exploiting
people especially workers
• Owned by a non-governmental legal entity
• The labor class gets exploited by capitalists

Private property needs to be abolished and turned over into common ownership. The only way to truly liberate society from the control of rich elites and the private interests of the few.

Your grocery store's parking lot in private property. It's not all quite that nefarious.
@Graylight this still isn't an argument in favour of private property
Graylight · 51-55, F
@RebelliousSpirit I'm not making an argument in favor of anything. I impliedit's a more nuanced discussion than you let on.

@RebelliousSpirit Are homes a better argument than parking lots?
@Ynotisay homes can fall under the category of personal property but can be private property too
Ynotisay · M
@RebelliousSpirit Actually not. Personal property doesn't include real estate. Personal property is movable. Homes are not. That's the distinction.
@Ynotisay I am aware of that distinction but since housing is not always a commercial good it is important to make another distinction.
Ynotisay · M
@RebelliousSpirit And if I told you that it's not always a 'commercial good" to the person who owns the home you'd say....
I'm not sure you have a handle yet on the entire landlord thing yet. I think you might see them as the enemy. They're not the enemy. There's plenty of enemies out there who do REAL damage. Not once in all of your posts here did you touch on the explosion of wealth disparity. You know, that 1% owning 90% of the world's wealth thing? That's true. THAT can be changed. Capitalism will always exist. At least hopefully for humanity. But the rules can be changed. There's your fight.

I know and it is sickening just as it is crazy you actually support capitalism.
Sure live on the streets for a while then you'll understand how it feels knowing there are people making money by owning more living space than they actually need in order to create profit.
Ynotisay · M
@RebelliousSpirit You're right. I never lived on the streets. Close. But I sucked it up. I didn't allow that to happen. I worked jobs that I hated for little money because I was taught to take care of my own shit. I've never had a safety net. I've never taken a handout. Or even applied for unemployment. I worked. I earned what I have. That's not being a slave. That's personal responsibility.
Now if you're jealous of what others have then...whatever. You're just guaranteeing your own fate. That's YOUR decision. You run you. Like I said, survival of the fittest. We're animals. It's what we do.
@Ynotisay You confuse personal responsibility with cruelty and system failure. I truly pity you for thinking like this and now you are hell bent on insisting and probably making sure things do not improve cause you had it hard.

It's not jealousy it's expecting a system that benefits all and not the few. Again you misunderstand the survival of the fittest argument.
I am in touch with friends from Europe and over there people don't look down on "handouts" and are not told to rely only on yourself fighting in a selfish system.
Ynotisay · M
@RebelliousSpirit You pity me? I'm done now little one. Kiss me ass with that shit. Don't write me again. Thanks.
@Ynotisay you started out writing me and have been acting like a huge condescending piece of shit here.
Ynotisay · M
@RebelliousSpirit You arrogantly post and then expect others to agree with it? When it's crystal clear why you're posting? Uh...block.
