China controls 1/2 of the copper and 2/3 of the lithium. Why isnt this considered when electric cars are being pushed in the US?

Can you buy lithium and keep it in a barrel or something as an investment type deal? 馃搱

@MrBrownstone Does lithium have to be in a battery or can you just buy the stuff?

@FloorGenAdm No idea.

China controls the vast majority of solar panel production, windmill production and will corner the market on the batteries for electric cars. So while the rest of the world "goes green" China collects the green. In the meantime, China doesn't have any immediate plans to be carbon neutral. 2060 is the current projection. They currently produce more CO2 than the US, the EU and India combined. Our leadership is selling us out to the CCP.

@BizSuitStacy The US transition to electric vehicles could require three times as much lithium as is currently produced for the entire global market, causing needless water shortages, Indigenous land grabs, and ecosystem destruction inside and outside its borders
