I heard that no conservative candidate even tried to run for the office. Is that true?

@fanuc2013 That is generally true in large urban centers like Chicago, LA, NYC, and Atlanta. Conservative politics just don't play well in big cities. They never have dating back to colonial times. Right-wing policies such as Prohibition haven't been supported or enforced in cities.
