White House - Chinese Collusion? (Blinken, winking, and nod . . . )
Well, it's happening. Just like I predicted earlier this week. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is jetting off to meet with his Chinese counterpart (in Munich).
This “mo' better trade” visit was (quite briefly) put on hold after American's became concerned about the death-star size Chinese spy balloon hovering over sensitive US military installations.
That was 2 weeks ago. Not even a full month. Off the front page! On with the trip!
WTH? Why can't we decide who our friends are, and who our enemies are, for more than 2 weeks at a time? I've held a grudge against my neighbors' cat for longer than two weeks (for stalking the birds at my feeder)
Money. I tell you. Follow the money.
Who is the biggest corporate donor to democrats (2020)? More than the next two donors combined? WAAAY more than $120 million? If you guessed “George Soros (fund)”, go to the head of the class.
Why should George Soros care about trade spats with China? Well, he DOES happen to own a bunch of stock in companies like Apple, Tesla, Alphabet (Google). Companies with vast Chinese investments. Factories, workforce, exports to the USA. (Yeah, I know China doesn't use the Google search engine. But they are using Google cloud services and manufacturing, until they pirate THOSE processes too).
So, you see, if George Soros is unhappy, then he doesn't contribute money to democrats, and they might not win elections. $120 million (to democrats) vs zero (to republicans) in donations isn't chump change. We're the chumps, possibly.
How much did you and I contribute? Has the White House or a key senator ever sent a secret envoy to meet with us, and determine how we feel about things like Chinese balloon spying, infrastructure hacking, Taiwan invasions, Uighur labor camps . . .?
If they sent someone to my place, evidently I wasn't home. And nobody left a doorknob hanger saying “We were here to talk about China. Call us back at 1-800 . . . “
If they HAD, I'd have certainly called the toll-free number, to tell them I disagree with spying, hacking, invasions, and human rights abuses.
But you and I don't get asked, because we don't give $120 million in donations in an election cycle.
Wait – actually, we do. When we use Apple, Google, Tesla, or other products made by the (144) companies Soros owns, I'm helping fund his contributions, lobbying, and of course ensure that Chinese trade stays on track to keep his cash flowing from those investments.
At last – I feel like I'm making a difference!
