DeSantis' strategy when called out - lie.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said a school district's months-long removal and review of a children's book about baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente was "a joke" and an attempt to draw attention.

Because Florida’s been lacking for attention.

Except…The Clemente book is just one of 1.6 million titles in classroom and media center libraries that need to be reviewed by a certified media specialist in Duval County Public Schools.

All this progressive action - and lying - on the heels of silently expanding his powers to “relocate” migrants to “other sanctuary cities” and is shopping around for an alternative to the SAT because he’s mad they’re in charge of AP curricula

The last time I checked, "we, "The United States," don't ban books, burn books or censor books.
That being said, I don't believe in propagating against children either.
If his true concern is the "Critical Race Theory," then all books would not need to be reviewed, only those books printed since the theory came into existence.
Banning all books, even to protect children, is nothing more than government overstepping it's authority and trampling on The Constitution and "radicals" never have a problem trampling on The Constitution.
Isn't that the official GOP policy across the board?

Honestly, I think these extreme measures are a silent call to Trump's following to "vote for me"
The schools have been very important in making Americans the dangerous denialists they are. The schools come from genocidal beginings.

I know nothing about baseball, but I'm going to assume that Roberto Clemente is black.

@Turtlepower I think the saddest thing is nobody cared about the 1984 book bans until they targetted a book about someone they cared about.

@BohoBabe I think that's hyperbole think. Plenty of people cared, just not his voters.

@Turtlepower Well not literally "nobody." But not enough to make him stop these ridiculous bans. It took a book about sports to get people to take notice. And even then, the book bans are still happening, they just put back this one book.
This is basically Bread and Circus. Let people have their food and sports, they won't care that we took away their freedom.
keep our children stupid on the past and make bad republicans out of them.. might as well give them a gun out of school instead of a diploma ..
