My own congressman Buddy Carter proposed this idiocy. It’s so regressive, it will require a subsidy for low income earners just so they can afford basic necessities. It will also depress the economy as people will buy fewer commodities. And rent is already out of control, so increasing it will push even more people into homelessness.
Regardless, this is Just performative as it will never pass the Senate.

@Ozuye502 We enjoy absolutely no federal tax levy here in Florida. We don't contribute to social security, healthcare, defense, economic security programs, benefits for veterans and federal retirees, or interest on debt. As a state, though, we still need these services. The services that are funded through tax dollars.
