I think it's funny you have Cleveland on there twice. Yes I know he served two separate terms but still odd to add him twice to this pole.

Considering I think the office of the President is a guarantee that the holder will commit horrific atrocities... William Henry Harrison since he only lasted a month.

@BlueMetalChick: Hold it now. Don't blame Reagan for the mental health issue. It was the Liberals who wanted to close mental health hospitals and send patients home to collect disability checks and create more jobs (in the minds of the Liberals) by having one health care giver in the home (who also received a government check monthly) and other medical services in the home provided by health care professionals. So instead of 1 or 2 health care jobs per, lets say, 10 to 12 patients in an actual hospital, now there were 2 to 3 jobs per patient that lived at home. The Liberal Dems wanted that and Reagan gave it to them. And you know how politics work, if the Dems didn't get what they wanted, they would stall Reagon's bills or our right kill them.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@calicuz: The democrats wanted that, and Reagan almost gave it to them. He closed asylums all across America. No effort whatsoever was made to put caregivers in homes of any kind. Which is why the second largest group of homeless people in America is the mentally ill, right after veterans. Although, let's be real, half the veterans are probably mentally ill as well.

@BlueMetalChick: I agree to disagree on this one. Politics can get so messy sometimes. 🙂 🤝

It's disturbing that there's a high number of votes for Ronald Reagan, one of the worst presidents in US history. That's upsetting.

But his charisma outweighs all of his failed policies. Ultimately nostalgia is motivated by feelings, not facts

@TyphoidJerry: That was poetic.

@HalfCactus: True. As an actor, he certainly knew how to do public speaking, which appealed to many people.

And he liked jelly beans, apparently. I like jelly beans too.

Preventing European colonization in the Americas? A good idea, if the Americans hadn't done the same dumb shit the Euros had. But at least it stopped the Portuguese from mutilating their slaves in Brazil.
KingofPizza2 · 36-40, M
Indeed. It wasn't perfect but... it made things a *little* better.
