Trump is going to make America great again by turning the clock back

He'll make things like they were in the 1960s; the days before high taxes, welfare programs and anti-business policies crippled America.

You are HOW old? Did you ever pick up a book on history and READ it? In the 1960's the top marginal tax rate was ninety percent - yes so no low taxes there. The USA under John F Kennedy ran a budget surplus - yup true. Welfare programs started in the 1930's they were not a modern invention and they are he hall mark of a civil society particularly in America where the concentration of wealth today is unprecedented and this was NOT the case in the 1960's No lessor a president than Former General and Republican - GOP standard bearer Dwight D Eisenhower considered a maximum income - where any amount over the maximum level would be paid fully as taxes to the Federal Government. He stopped at ninety percent leaving some incentive left to make more money but he knew there should be a limit to what one person earned when others did not. So this turning back the clock you have in mind is a fantasy to a time that never - EVER existed. Just saying.

in the 50's, while the top tax rate may have reached 90%, the tax rate on just $1 of income was 20%.

A big difference between then and now was that in the 50's EVERYONE who earned income paid income tax, even people who earned peanuts.

Why aren't liberals yelling to have EVERYONE pay their fair share like they did in 50's? Everyone had a stake in America, everyone paid. It's part of what made America Greater then than it is now. Everyone paid.

What makes America "not so great" anymore is because liberals divided America between the rich and the poor, between black and white, between long and old. We are all on the same ship. Quit creating bulkheads between us.

If Trump paid no taxes he had no taxable income. It's IRS rules that define taxable income, and define what's a legitimate business deduction.

America started being "not so great" when Democrats started fixing what they thought was wrong in America by breaking what was right. They destroyed school system and neighborhoods across America with forced integration. The decimated our cities with criss-crossing interstate highways through the hearts of those cities. And mostly, they turned America's struggling citizens into permanent wards of the Democrats.

Instead of me adding to this comment I'll default to Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory for a most eloquent explanation of why I classify my political affiliation as anti-Democrat.
