Why was European Democracy not as successful as the American Democracy?

American democracy unleashed full freedom which meant despotism by commoners. Religion in America checked this despotism by idealising a sense of obligation in the masses.

In Europe, the Champions of freedom attacked Religion and created a Despotism not adhering to anything. Lack of self restraint caused the demolition of Europe.

Why not as successful? Napoleon, Wilhelm II and Adolf Hitler probably had a lot to do with it.

@beckyromero They were there because of the unrestricted despotic tendencies 👆👆👆

My point is it's hard to build a successful democracy if you're under occupation by a foreign power.
