Is there any point in posting in the politics topic at the moment?

Skipping the rest of the non-US world, theres not much happening until after GA gets decided, and even then, it seems pretty much a question of how and whether the Republican can get it's shit together with Trump trying to rip it and Western Civilization, including Christianity apart for his own goals.

Seems pretty pointless to me to even check in, much less comment or post.

Am I wrong?

You are right, for all the wrong reasons. US politics has not been about politics for years. Its about power and control, and keeping the other people from getting anything done,. There is no furthering of any global, international or local cause to benefit Americans or the world. America is stagnant, while the rest of the world is limping away from the train wreck..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman "No furthering?" Are you sure about that? I bet a lot of children (child poverty cut in half via the American Rescue Plan), seniors (prescription drug costs capped via the Inflation Reduction Act) and workers (via the $1.2 Trillion infrastructure package) would disagree. And that's a just a few. There's good things taking place. Nothing wrong with acknowledging them.

@Ynotisay You are of course correct. I was not refering to legislative progress of bills, but rather the political intercourse between members to formulate a coherent path for the nation. But I would note all this progress was in recent times. Like the last 2 years.😷
