I Will Not Say Anything About the Contents of Donald Trump's Tax Returns Unless They Are Officially Released to the Public.

That is except for the portions of his 2016 and 2017 returns that could be sent to DOJ for criminal referral.

But you didn't hear that from me. 🤫
Perhaps members of the committee who have seen the official returns can happen mention that the unofficial returns printed by the NY Times are accurate.

I don’t think they can be officially released, but they will be leaked eventually.

Actually, they CAN be "officially" released.

House Ways and Means will meet in executive session to reviewTrump's returns.

The Committee can then vote whether to release them as a "report" to the full House, thereby making them a public document.

That's how Nixon's returns were released after the Committee obtained them from the IRS.
@beckyromero Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. I know since the Democrats are about to lose control of the House, Neal is considering handing them over to Ron Wyden, his counterpart in the Senate. This would allow a lengthier investigation as there's not really time for the House committee to investigate them.

Or, I guess if they're made public, there will be no shortage of experts looking them over.
