Should the Democrats Nominate John Kasich, former Republican governor of Ohio, for Speaker of the House?

Poll - Total Votes: 11
Yes. It will show how extreme the GOP has become if he can't get a half dozen Republican votes.
No. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) will be able to garner a half dozen Republican votes.

If all the Democrats and a half dozen Republicans vote for Kasich, he would become the next Speaker of the House.

Wouldn't be the worst idea. No Republican in the new house is going to vote for a Democrat but they might be able to snag 10 to vote for someone like Kasich. But I highly doubt he'd want the job.

Kasich would be a good choice for Speaker. Jeffries would as well, but he won't be able to get Republicans votes. But I doubt Kasich would want the job. Would you want to work with MTG, Gaetz, Jordan, Comer, Biggs, Gosar, and all the other crazies on a daily basis? Just those folks alone will prevent any Republican legislation from passing unless it is something bizarre like outlawing litterboxes in schools. I would quit any job where I had to routinely act with unprincipled, amoral people like that.
I definitely think the Democrats should nominate a reasonable Republican if they’re all on board.

Excellent idea …..

I don’t know, but I’m really concerned there is no limit on what the Republicans can do with this, possibly voting Donald Trump or DeSantis in.

Silly poll… more complex than two options but I’m not surprised
