why can't we have something better?
why do we settle for career politicians from either democrats or republicans conniving to achieve on party rule in washington DC. Isn't there a better alternative?

The two party system is a deliberate divisive distraction. No one person, group or ideology have all answers, neither is any one person, group or ideology cartoonishly evil or good.
Yet most of us develop these very cartoonish narraritives of the world to the point that they attack people who they very well know have no bad intention, and deny facts thaf they very well know are facts. We know there is no simple answer to everything, that the world is infinitely complicated and this makes us uncomfortable. We choose a grand narrative with a few set in stone values and a bad guy team and then dont budge. When someone disagrees with us it is seen as an attack on the comfort we get from the narrative, and the amount of time and energy weve spent on it, and see them as a bad person and put them into the bad guy team, be it 'fascists', 'satanists' or whatever your team's ideologues use as the bad guys. Each sides arguments devolve into how evil everyone else is.
It's nearly impossible to give an objective view on anything without someone popping up to tell you how bad a person you are. And i mean that for any subject, ive had accusations thrown at me for a discussion over videogames. And they will have some word game which involves saying a load of bad guy buzzwords that explains how they are a better person than you for not having an argument or even an understanding of the topic at hand and so shouldnt be expected to have one because you are simply too evil to deserve a real response.
Long stort short, people want to be prefend to be moral and informed but dont want to do the actual work so just flat out accuse other people of being so iredeemably evil from the get go that they conveniently dont need to understand anything they are commenting on.
