why do we settle for career politicians from either democrats or republicans conniving to achieve on party rule in washington DC. Isn't there a better alternative?

1. ukraine has been invaded by a madman with nukes 2. my 401k has lost 20% of itls value - more than i will earn from salary in 2022 3. inflation is near 10% 4. there are no new cars on dealers lots. you have to pay a premium over list and wait 6 weeks 5. the homeless population is skyrocketing
To keep it simple. Yeah putin is a war criminal that donnie had closed door meetings with. Of course putin isn’t going to do anything as long as NATO was weak with trump there. We spent several trillion of 1980 dollars to break up the Soviet Union. What we spend now is chump change.
