I think it may be a flaw in our constitution that grants so much power to a ruling political party and the speaker of the house.

I'm not criticizing kicking these people off their committees a much as I am criticizing those who put them on committees in the first place.

@Heartlander Omar, deep hater of Israel, is on the foreign affairs committee; Swalwell, compromised by his affair with a Chinese spy, is on the intelligence committee; Schiff, inveterate liar, is on the intelligence committee. Time to boot all 3. Pelosi refused to let Republicans choose who served on the January 6 sham committee; now what goes around comes around.

@Heartlander Oh, so NOW it’s a problem. All the years of Speaker Nasty it was okay?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@redredred :) I think you may have missed my second paragraph.

@graphite Omar wasn't elected to kiss Israel's ass. She got over 75% of the votes in her district.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@graphite Yes, a good example of how a partisan speaker can game the system and deprive half the population of fair and equal representation.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@Heartlander It would be hilarious if the Dems ended up with 70% of the House seats in the next election and then expelled McCarthy from Congress.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@Heartlander But it was ok when the democrats had the power?
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@Diotrephes Of course! Her district voters are heavily from her country, and it is a fact there was a lot of "vote harvesting". And her legal entry into this country is still in doubt
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@fanuc2013 Are you a trump supporter?

@Heartlander This was supposed to be the role of press/media. The 4th estate. To point out abuses of power on all sides. To investigate and report no matter the political affiliation. There is no trust in the press any longer on either side. That leaves either party to manipulate the rules to suit the immediate needs/wants of the elite. That is the importance of maintaining traditional procedural norms even when it may not suit your party's wants at the moment in time. Once the tradition is broken then what is good for the goose is good for the gander to maintain some sort of balance. Look at what has happened to the impeachment and special counsel rules over the last half century. Ultimately turn about is fair play.

@Diotrephes I supported his policies, but I think his time has passed.
