@Montanaman It's no hoax. I've had two friends die from covid, and a sister who just barely survived it, and still has issues from it. Your comment just shows that you have been fed too much misinformation.
but you do realize that number is grossly exaggerated. A person dies of kidney failure, blame it on Covid. Just saying. I know Covid is real. It's just how it's used to control Americans and install fear.
The evidence says otherwise.
Here in the table are US death numbers for the top ten causes of death for six years ending in 2020. Notice how there are 20% more deaths in 2020 than the average of the previous five years? Doing the math, that's about 500,000 excess deaths in 2020.
Notice how, in 2020, 345,000 of those 500,000 excess deaths are classified as Covid? Notice how almost all causes of death rose in 2020, including cancer & heart disease?
If there's any validity to the claim that lots of deaths have been mis-classified as Covid, why did almost all causes of death increase in 2020? Wouldn't mis-classification produce a reduction in those other causes? The evidence says mis-classification is a red herring.
@windinhishair The thing that does seen to have made a difference in the last election is the actually motivation of people to get out an vote, even if it is more difficult. That alone accounts for the overal number of votes cast. I think we all have opinions on that one/..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman It was striking how many people voted in the last election on both sides due to the polarization of the voters and having a candidate that believes in democracy and one who believes in becoming Emperor-King. Ideally, even more people should vote in future elections. Sadly, due to Republican voter suppression, that may end up being the high point in total votes cast for quite a while, until the population increases significantly.
@windinhishair Yes.. But I dont see a population increase any time soon. This isnt political. Its about the numbers..As older people die off, they are being replaced more by Migrants than by births.. And we dont need to discuss where the migrants are coming from..Soon voter suppression wont be enough.. But population growth is simply not a driver in America now. Of the economy or the society.. For the majority of migrants it is no longer a place to make your fortune. Its a place to escape abject poverty and violence..😷
I've seen other broader studies that show the same thing. But breaking it down to counties, and just using the two states, and seeing THAT kind of discrepancy? It's almost like actions have consequences, huh?
There was a page on Reddit dedicated to chronicling the social media posts of conservatives who ended up either dying or getting really sick. What was mind blowing was the similarities of them all.
From sharing the same memes and bogus articles, to the hoax claims and freedom cries, to the sickness, to "Covid isn't a joke." And then it was usually a family member asking for "Prayer Warriors," the death announcement and then the GoFundMe request.
Over and over. Rinse and repeat. Shockingly similar. You want to have compassion, particularly for all the children who were left behind, but it was hard to pull it up for the individual.
This result was expected based on the level of denial within Republican ranks. Failure to consider facts, data, and science can and does have real-world consequences. I find it profoundly sad on so many levels that we had so many preventable deaths.
