they say poor have to choose between heating and eating, youd eat surely

always quoting heating or eating, when i was a kid we had no heating in our house, so it was always cold in winter, we ate every day,its like people think being warm is a right nowadays

No, but it's something every hard working person shouldn't have to choose between. Housing, food, basic clothing and heat should never be a luxury.
When a government fails to allow it's people or find a way for it's people to obtain these basic needs, they have failed their people.

1000s of people here in the UK die every year due to living in cold homes (1 person dies every 52 mins here in the uk due to living in a cold home.)
Do you feel we should go back to the days when you were a kid?
Many have to choose between heating and eating nowadays.
@Entwistle the same country that welcomes oligarchs on their knees with their tongue out
At this age with the technology and wealth we have heating should be a right

You definitely didn't live in New England....

We had that same saying, but my mom split the difference and we all ate like soldiers on half-rations so we wouldn't freeze to death in sub-zero temperatures.
I still remember the Mayonnaise sandwich and cracker lunches with a half glass of milk and all the tap water we could consume.....

I guess "it's so easy" for only a select few..?

Pfft....
Being warm and secure at home is a right. In winter, it's not just the cold, but the damp air. That's why all these cranks who say "just put another jumper on" and "do a few star jumps", instead of turning on the heating don't know what they're talking about. It's not just your warmth but the quality of air you're breathing in. Breathe in enough cold, damp air, particularly if you're elderly or disabled or medically compromised, you're soon in danger.

Heating is a matter of life and death where I live Nov-Mar

certainly doesn't help when politicians/elites/greenies try to force their twisted principles on everyone, make them pay a premium for it, then act as if they're doing everyone a favor...

Pretty awful choice between hypothermia and malnutrition. Poor health and depression is likely to catch you on the way.

**EVERYONE SHOULD NOTE THAT THIS TROLL TYPED THIS UP HOURS AGO AND HAS LEFT EVERY REPLY UNANSWERED AND UNREMARKED**

Just another idiot spewing stupid shit out into the void that SW has become due to people just like him....

@HikingMan

I took it more as: "I'm just gonna leave this right here"
HikingMan · 51-55, M
@calicuz That's a hell of a thing to just leave lying around.

It's more of a troll posting as he knew it would elicit the responses given and he knows there's no defending such a cavalier attitude towards fellow human beings
@HikingMan Problem is such people do get their view heard by those in power, and those views become policy...
hunkalove · 61-69, M
It certainly is a right.
@hunkalove do you like and unlike my comments because you dont like me lmao how old are you
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M

CestManan · 46-50, F
Or if they have an only fans subscription, they have to choose between heating, eating, and beating.

I'd eat Tanya before Shirley.
I’ve dealt with both. I do think food and heat should be a right. We live in modern society. We have the means to provide it. I guess my poverty experience gave me kindness.
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
yeah right, yet my biology teacher said you shouldn't eat cooled or frozen things then :P

How cold did it get where you were ? I grew up where it rarely dropped below 40 f. Extra blankets, longjohns and thick socks, that’s survivable. But I spent one winter break with a classmate from St. Cloud MN. She told me during the winters people regularly freeze to death, like a popsicle, when their heats turned off. So if staying alive is a right, it would indeed include some heat as well as food, in cases like that.

How cold did it get? Were you living in Alaska or the Caribbean?
